How to say the Rosary

First of all I will explain to you what the Rosary is and what it is used for. The Rosary is Mary’s weapon to destroy evil.
The Rosary is a weapon (that’s how Padre Pio of Pietralcina used to call it). What are weapons used for? To kill. Well, the Rosary is the only weapon in the world which doesn’t kill man, but kills… (*sin, evil…let the children come up with it).

If many of us use this weapon, we will form a big ARMY; a WHITE Army, because white is the colour of Peace, the colour of purity, the colour of innocence. This will be the only Army in the world which doesn’t make war, but makes Peace; which won’t create hatred, but Love.
All the children in the world who will say the Rosary every day, alone or by forming small prayer groups – THE NESTS OF PRAYER OF THE ARMATA BIANCA – with their family, relatives and friends, will be part of Our Lady’s Armata Bianca. You will find on the leaflet we gave you how a Nest of Prayer is formed. Now let’s see how to say the Rosary.

Do you all have a rosary? Do you all have the leaflet with the mysteries of the Rosary? Good, open it. At the top we read: “The Holy Rosary” and underneath what is written? Joyful Mysteries, then Mysteries of Light, Sorrowful Mysteries and lastly Glorious Mysteries.
What are “mysteries”? They are the most important moments in Jesus and Mary’s life: the joyful mysteries are the mysteries of joy which let us meditate on the first years of Jesus’ life; the mysteries of light on the most important events of His public life; the sorrowful mysteries on His passion and death; the glorious mysteries on His resurrection and Jesus and Mary’s  triumph into Heaven.
Beside the joyful mysteries, what is written in brackets? –“Monday and Saturday!”.
Beside the mysteries of Light what is written? – “Thursday”.
Beside the sorrowful mysteries what is written? – “Tuesday and Friday!”.
Beside the glorious mysteries what is written? – “Wednesday and Sunday”.
This means that there are 20 mysteries of the Rosary, which should all be recited every day, all 20 of them. However, if you can’t say all of them, you must say at least the ones for that specific day. For example: on Thursdays which mysteries do we say?- “The Mysteries of Light!”. And on Saturdays? The Joyful Mysteries! Good.

Let’s give an example: what day is it today? (*the children answer) Which mysteries do we say? (*the children answer). Good, now let’s read what is written in the first mystery and say: “In the first joyful mystery we contemplate (that is, we mediate on) the annunciation of the angel Gabriel to Mary”. Good, now fold the leaflet and put it in your pocket.

To start reciting the Rosary, let’s make the sign of the cross together, but let’s do it well, a nice wide and slow sign: “In the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen”. Now let’s put the Rosary which we have around our necks in our hands – with these two fingers which work like tweezers (show them the index finger and the thumb united) – let’s hold the small medal and say: “In the first Joyful mystery (*or Luminous, Sorrowful, Glorious…) we contemplate…

Now let’s say the Our Father. The row on the right will say the first half with me and the row on the left will say the other half (or, if you prefer, I will say the first half and you’ll say the second half): Our Father who art in Heaven
Now take the first bead after the medal, not the one that goes to the Crucifix, but the one inside the circle, and let’s say the Hail Mary together.
Now take the second bead, and hold it tight until we finish the second Hail Mary: then the third one…Now I won’t tell you anymore, let’s see who can count them all until the end of the decade…(* when you get to the second last Hail Mary ask the children: How many are left? – One! – Very good!)

Now, children, take the big bead in your hand and let’s say together: “Glory to the Father…”
Now, always holding the big bead, let’s recite a prayer which the Virgin Mary taught the children of Fatima on July 13, after she showed them hell. You will find it on the leaflet, open it and go to the second column, where it is written “Our Father”..; underneath “Hail Mary…”; and still underneath “Glory to the Father…”, and more underneath “Oh My Jesus…”. Let’s read this prayer together, slowly:

“Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Your mercy”.

Now we have recited the first decade of the Rosary. We’ll stop here, but after you will finish the rosary on your own. To continue saying the Rosary you must announce the second mystery and – always holding the big bead – say the Our Father. Then you say the other ten Hail Marys…

Children, remember that to say the Rosary it takes just 15 minutes, that is about the hundredth part of the day… If you had 100 candies and I asked you for one, would you give it to me? Yes? Well, the Virgin Mary is just asking you for the hundredth part of your day…

DO WE WANT TO MAKE AN ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE TO OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN?

The three Shepherd children at Fatima used to make a lot of sacrifices; do we want to make one too, so that Peace will come as soon as possible? Yes?! Good, I will tell you what sacrifice Our Lady wants from you. Get ready because it is very hard, very difficult:
Our Lady asks you not to watch TV! And she explained why: “Television –she said – is destroying your minds and your hearts! You are no longer able to reason freely because television confuses you with so much violence, lies, false values, bad examples and a lack of true love!”
I invite you to make this sacrifice for at least a week! However, it would be a good idea for you to renew this resolution from week to week. Is there anyone who is willing to make this sacrifice? Yes?
Good, thank you for this too. And I remind you that the more a sacrifice costs you, the more value it has.

Thank you children. Thank you on behalf of our Mommy and Daddy in Heaven; thank you also on my behalf.

LET’S SEND MARY A KISS

Before we leave, do we want to send a little kiss to Mary? Yes? Well, let’s try… and now let’s give an applause and sing a song to Our Lady (*before the encounter decide on the song with the teachers)
